Who's That Pokémon? — Zoom Quiz

Identify Pokémon from a zoomed-in detail. A free browser round inspired by the classic TV segment. Play at fandle.app.

Try the quizzes

"Who's that Pokémon?" started as a commercial bumper in the anime and turned into a format people never stopped replicating. On Fandle, the version is a zoom quiz: you see a tight crop of a Pokémon — maybe a tail tip, maybe an ear — and try to name the creature before the frame pulls out.

Zoom versus silhouette

The classic silhouette format (Sporcle, PokeShadow, countless fan sites) gives you the full outline blacked out. You are matching a shape. The zoom variant on Fandle gives you real colour and detail — but only a sliver. You might see a patch of fur and a colour gradient that could belong to three different Pokémon until you notice one pixel of a stripe that narrows it to one.

It is a different kind of knowledge: less "I memorised 900 outlines" and more "I actually looked at this creature closely at some point in my life."

What gets tested

Mostly visual memory of details you never thought you were storing: ear shapes, eye colours, specific markings. Gen 1 starters are easy. Regional forms are mean. Anything with a mostly round body and one dominant colour is harder than you think because too many Pokémon fit that description.
